Unlike Bernardino de’Conti’s profile depiction of Charles d’Amboise, another portrait in the Louvre Museum in France, painted by Andrea Solario, is a frontal image of him. Full face in view, Solario’s version is more individualized than de’Conti’s more stylized side-view. Despite the difference in artistic styles, D’Amboise’s collar of shells and knots remains the same in both portraits.
